Smitten by Him

I remember the days I used to hear people say that they spent hours at a time with God.

I loved God, but HOURS?!

 

It was so challenging to devote 5 or 10 minutes of my time, let alone an hour!

They said that God's sweet Presence would have you hooked and running back for more... They said that there's something even more unique about spending time with Him in the MORNING. But who wants to wake up extra early?! It was hard to do and I tried, but failed many times. Still, I was curious: What could I possibly gain?" He doesn't reply, I convinced myself.

 

Boy, was I wrong. Instead of stopping when restless as I so often did, I began taking the advice of the "experienced" devotees: I played music, talked, asked questions, and tried to listen for His reply. It wasn't easy, but it became important to me.

 

 

Those who earnestly desire something will go the extra mile to get it.

 

 

Soon, the days came when an hour felt like a few minutes. Time flew by. Devotions became easier, enjoyable, and a NECESSITY... for me! Who knew that one could actually be smitten by the Creator of the world?

 

This site is for everyone who is on a journey to discover God's great love for them.
